I am not sure if you have ever heard of Francis Chan, but I hear him speak last weekend. He sort of touched on about how we like to have a "big pile" of salt...even if it is unflavored. Just because we like having a "big pile". Jesus did not want a big pile..he wanted the small pile but flavored salt. It is why he taught in parables. He wanted the ones who wanted to dig in and get it. He know that the thousands would bail as soon as it got bad... In some way his talk addressed some of this post.. I have it on for my iPhone, let me know if your interested. It so messed me up in a beautiful way.
